It has been one year now since MyCatholicVillage was started and the first blog was posted on August 11, 2007. Myself and a few friends felt called by God to start a social networking website for Catholics where people could support each other in their Catholic faith. This new site would strive to avoid the improper & immoral content, foul language and scandalous advertising which is commonly found on other social networking sites. I believe that we have done a very good job in achieving our goals. Over the past year we tried several different advertising agencies but continually had a major problem finding the advertising that did not contain any offensive material. By praying to the intercession of St. Maximillan Kolbe for our site (St. Max is our patron) the site started to grow and we found new ways to continually improve the site. Many bugs were worked out and many improvements to the site were completed. We changed the site layout serveral times along the way. New features were added and made available to our membership.
Now after one year of prayer and hard work we really have a site that we all can be proud of! MyCatholicVillage has a special charism which is not found on other sites. We also have the following advantages:
* a foul language filter
* screened advertising provided by an excellent & reliable Catholic source
* a friendly community of faithful, practicing Catholics
* no annoying applications
MyCatholicVillage is proud to support you in your Catholic faith and we ask that you continue to support us. How can you do this? By being an active member of our site you help us to continually improve the site. Here are ways to help:
* uploading photos & videos
* posting blogs
* posting comments
* rating blogs, photos, and other content
* inviting your friends and other Catholics that you know to join MyCatholicVillage
Thank you for your support & God bless you. MyCatholicVillage looks forward to continued growth in the coming years due to the intercession of St. Maximillian Kolbe and your ongoing support.
In 1523, the Church was in sad shape. People could not get the spiritual nourishment they needed from the large numbers of uneducated and even immoral priests who took their money but returned nothing. When good priests and laypeople turned to the hierarchy for help, they found leaders at best apathetic and indifferent to their concerns.
