Don't you love to meet a nun or priest who stands up boldly for preborn babies? We do!
Now you can meet, greet, march with and interview one of the most wonderful pro-life nuns our family has ever met-Sr. Sean Patrice, CSJ. That's because on Saturday, January 24, she's flying to San Francisco to take part in the huge Fifth Annual West Coast Walk for Life in that spiritually-ravaged city. You can meet her there, and she's a great reason why you should go.
Sr. Sean Patrice has been protesting abortion for 34 years! 'Way back in 1974 she joined our family of eight in picketing the pro-abortion California Medical Association's convention in Los Angeles.
Sister has demonstrated against the abortionists many times since then. But that's just a small part of the pro-life work she's done. That's because for the last 50 years she's taught schoolchildren how to live as good Christians, to stay chaste and to love babies.
Only God knows how many babies she's saved from abortion by teaching young people to avoid sins against purity and stay out of the clutches of the abortionists.
Sister, who belongs to the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, has taught at many schools. She's now in her 22nd year at St. Vincent De Paul School in Los Angeles. It's part of St. Vincent De Paul parish, the third-oldest Catholic parish in Los Angeles, after La Placita and St. Vibiana's Cathedral.
The school's Web site says it helps children "become competent in making Christian, moral decisions in a secular society," and that's what Sister has dedicated her life to.
If you're going to the West Coast Walk for Life, be sure to greet Sister and thank her for her life of service to Christ and His people. In her beautiful, white full habit, she won't be hard to spot!
Even if you're not going, please consider interviewing her. Her wealth of experience makes her a memorable interview subject. You can reach her at stvincentcsj@yahoo.com or (213) 747-2337.
And don't forget to watch Saturday's Walk for Life on Eternal Word Television Network's web site beginning at 1:00 p.m ET. Just go to http://www.ewtn.com/tv/index.asp#, click the "Television" tab and choose "Live TV - English."
Thank you for all you do for the innocent victims of abortion.
Yours for Life,
John and Sherry Finn

Second Black Pro-Life Leader Urges Barack Obama to Oppose Abortion
Second Black Pro-Life Leader Urges Barack Obama to Oppose Abortion
Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- A second black pro-life leader has issued comments urging incoming president Barack Obama to reverse course on abortion and oppose instead of promoting it. Alveda King, the niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is leading a group of African Americans with a pro-life message for Obama. Her comments come on the heels of Day Gardner asking Obama to oppose abortion as president. King and a group of community leaders are gathering in Atlanta today to discuss an agenda to be presented to Obama regarding his first 100 days in office. They say they appreciate that Obama is the first black president to serve in the White House and say that is a milestone for America. However, they believe that achievement will be undone if Obama promotes abortion as he has said he would do. "African Americans, like many Americans, are pro-life," King told LifeNews.com. "As we see the dawn of a new year and a great milestone being passed, people across the country should let our new president know that we want babies in the womb protected," she added. Poll: Plurality of Americans Want Pro-Life Laws
Poll: Plurality of Americans Want All or Most Abortions Illegal, Want Pro-Life Laws
Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- A new Harris Poll finds a plurality of Americans want all or most abortions to be illegal and overwhelming majorities of Americans want more abortion limits in law. The nationwide poll showed just 9 percent said abortion should be legal for any reason at any time during pregnancy -- Barack Obama's position. The Harris survey included 2,341 adults and was conducted December 10-12. It found 82 percent of Americans said abortion should either be illegal under all circumstances or would limit its legality. More specifically, 49 percent of those polled took a pro-life position wanting all abortions made illegal (11 percent) or wanting almost all abortions illegal except for very rare cases of saving the mothers life or in rape or incest (38 percent). "These findings are remarkable," said Deirdre McQuade, who is the spokeswoman for the pro-life office of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, which sponsored the poll. "Fewer than one in ten Americans support legal abortion for any reason at any time during pregnancy. But that is precisely the current state of abortion law under Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton, the 1973 U.S. Supreme Court decisions that made abortion legal throughout the nine months of pregnancy for virtually any reason," she told LifeNews.com. Full story at LifeNews.com
Pro-Life Plates Had Incredible Year
Choose Life License Plate Director Says Pro-Life Plates Had Incredible Year
Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Millions of motorists on the highways of America see Choose Life license plates every day as they drive to work or play. The plates, which now adorn the vehicles of 22 states, have reminded Americans of the pro-life perspective but have also raised about $9.6 million for adoption programs and pregnancy centers. Russ Amerling tells LifeNews.com that 2008 was an incredible year that not only saw more states adopt the Choose Life plates but the beginning of efforts to get the plates approved in several others. "This was an incredible year for the Choose Life license plate in America," he said. "A donor gave us $5000 to conduct a 17 state, two month tour during which we helped start Choose Life license plate efforts in nine more states and conducted follow up visits in the rest." In Arizona, state officials were ordered to move ahead with Choose Life plates, hearings were held on plates in Missouri, and South Carolina approved its plates. Full story at LifeNews.com
Catholic Bishop: Pray for Obama to Convert
Catholic Bishop: Pray for Obama to Convert From Pro-Abortion to Pro-Life
Fargo, ND (LifeNews.com) -- With the presidential election unable to keep the White House in pro-life hands, a Catholic bishop is turning to a more powerful force: prayer. Bishop Samuel Aquila of Fargo, in his latest column in his diocesan newspaper, says he is praying for incoming president Barack Obama to experience an abortion conversion. Aquila congratulated Obama on his victory, but he promised he will be praying for Obama to change his mind on abortion and urged Catholics in North Dakota to do the same. He urged prayers for "the conversion of his heart and mind to recognize the dignity of human life from the moment of conception until natural death and the truth that no government has the right to legalize abortion." Bishop Aquila says that not only is Obama's current pro-abortion view opposed to the pro-life teachings of the Catholic Church but he stands at odds with the overwhelming majority of Americans who are uncomfortable with abortion.
